This is the Friday post at Downtime, a feel-good weekly roundup of recommendations and delightful distractions. If the email cuts off, you can view it on the web.

Happy Friday! The temps hit a glorious high of *60* this week and it feels like SPRING is just around the corner. What are you doing this weekend? I’m excited to tune into the Oscars (mostly for the dresses, as I haven’t seen many of the noms…). Today’s post is a light and breezy one filled with small joys and good reads. Enjoy! -Alisha

In today’s post:

  • A roundup of cozy, light, “positive escapist” reads and TV shows, straight from the Downtime community

  • A simple spring recipe I can’t wait to try

  • My thoughts on the beauty of a wishlist

  • A book publishing trend I want to talk about

  • A bevy of fun links and lovely things

6 spring things I’m looking forward to…

  1. Each time spring rolls around, the gardening bug hits. But know we have a big renovation coming up means I’m being realistic about what I can actually do. This spring, I’m hoping to lean into container gardening (basically, planting seeds / flowers into indoor or outdoor pots). I found this photo of a glorious, overflowing bunch of gypsophilia (baby’s breath) that made me so excited. I want to pick up this book by expert UK gardener Sarah Raven. (And I just bookmarked this scalloped pot, which is so charming, though my heart lies with Campo de Fiori’s pottery.)

The rest of today’s letter is continued under the paywall. Paid subscribers receive the full version of every weekly recommendations newsletter, while free subscribers receive a preview. Thank you for your support!
