Fresh Finds: What I'm actually buying from all these sales...
The Nordstrom Sale is heavily advertised, but if you look past the hype, you can find some good basics.
Hi! I hope you had a great weekend. We visited an adorable children’s library near us and then walked over to a brewery we love. It was extremely hot, but I’m glad we decided to get outside and do something from our regular routine this weekend.
Anyway! I’m trying something new today - just a random, quick smattering of shopping and style adjacent notes for you. Onward! -Alisha
Fresh Finds: Sale Edition
I browse online stores…a lot. I suppose it’s literally part of my job now. More than half of what I bookmark and save never gets shared publicly. So this is my attempt at organizing all of that and making it useful for you!

First up, a few quick picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It looks like things are selling out fast, which always surprises me.
I approach these heavily marketed sales with a pretty even-keeled disposition: I only buy the stuff that I already love that needs replenishing, or I stick with the basics. You can find some good deals if you go into it with that mindset.
My top 4 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks…
I have and love this curling iron that heats up in ten seconds flat.
The Dyson Airstrait gets a bad rap, but this is actually my holy grail brush. Yes, it is heavy, but it’s the only tool that straightens my naturally curly 2b/2c hair, making it shiny and smooth. I can see why you might not need it if you’ve got straight-ish hair already, but it might be worth trying if you’re a fellow naturally curly-haired girl with a bad blow-drying habit. :)
I recently got this T3 roundbrush that’s on sale for less than $100 now! It’s my second-plus-day-hair brush. The oval barrel shape helps you build tension and smooth your hair more effectively.
RUN, our Uppababy stroller is on sale! I found ours on Facebook Marketplace for this same price.
You can find the rest of my picks here in a quickly browseable collection.
What I’m personally buying…
These giant pump-top tubs of the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. It’s the only thing I use, and I’ve almost run out, so it just happens to be great timing.
A few Natori bras. I love this brand for its quality, and I’m due for a bra refresh. I like that these don’t have any padding.
Shopping Notes
For my paid tier, this is a section on what I’ve bought, what I’m shopping for, and other more candid notes on shopping. This week I’m talking about packing for vacation, a diaper bag alt, hunting for comfortable sandals, and my honest thoughts on a Hill House dress.
Vacation packing list planning
I’m currently packing for our family trip next month, and of course, I organize my packing like a maniac, as shown by my Canva screenshot below. What about vacations makes us all lose our minds and purchase an entirely new wardrobe? I’m not packing 100% new items per se, but looking at my current list, it’s more like…80% stuff I’ve bought in the past few weeks? Yikes.
