since you linked to your january issue, i would love to know more about which books you were excited about for 2024 you ended up reading, what you thought of them, etc. I feel like I learn so much about a person when they revisit an old topic!
Hamnet is such a great read! I love this list of books -- some I have already pre-ordered for my Kindle like The Wedding Witch because I, too, am a mood reader and can't wait to connect with the fall vibes, even though it's still hot where I live. However, before the summer ends for good, I'm going to recommend The Wedding People by Alison Espach and Sandwich by Catherine Newman, which were two of my favorite reads from the last three months. Now, the real question is -- when can we break out the holiday reads?
Currently reading The Lion Women of Tehran, and enjoying it so far! Next on my list is Vicious by V.E. Schwab, one that’s been on my list for awhile but now seems like the appropriate time for me to read. Later next month, I’ll be reading The Wedding Witch for a light hearted, seasonal read!!
My friend Beth Kander has a book coming out Dec 10 called I Made It Out of Clay! So excited for it. Set in Chicago, it’s about a millennial woman dealing with the loss of her father during the holiday season, and there’s also a relationship story with some light magic sprinkled in.
i was in london in the spring and ventured into a book store, finding blue sisters on the shelves. i immediately added it to my tbr but had no plans to buy a physical book because i had my kindle and no more room in my luggage. i made it back home to new york and was DEVASTATED to find out i'd have to wait for it to be released in the states... needlessly to say, i'm so looking forward to it!!!!
I am not anti-classic but I tend to stay away from them because I know they will take me longer to read and digest. So this fall I really want to pick up one of the classics I already own (i.e., Pride and Prejudice, The Age of Innocence, or East of Eden). Hopefully I'll stick to this goal! I am a mood reader to a fault and pick up whatever sounds good in the moment completely forgetting any TBR I try and create!
As someone who reluctantly picked up East of Eden decades ago, I hope you enjoy it! It is fabulous, or at least it was to my 20 years younger self lol.
I got sucked in immediately and thoroughly enjoyed that book, what a story!
I have to plug my debut novel that came out yesterday: Casket Case! It's a small town paranormal romance about a woman who runs her family's casket store and meets a seemingly perfect man... who works for death. If it sounds like your thing, I hope you'll read it!
Need to read Blue Sisters. Heard a lot of good things about that author and need to hop on the book bandwagon!
Wow so excited for all of these!!!
I suggest you read Moore To come short cozy inspiring read !add to your TBR list

I’m currently reading The Wedding People and I second that recommendation. Sandwich was so good. I think it will be one I read at least once a year.
I agree. A once a year read, for sure!

Just popping in to say that East of Eden is one of my all-time favorite books! I read it last year, and it's just amazing.
Plus one on east of Eden- I expected a slog but it’s incredible
I love the Age of Innocence! And the Scorsese movie adaptation is also wonderful
