Oh I'm so excited, this is currently waiting for me on the hold shelf at my library- I reserved it after you mentioned you were reading it a few weeks ago!
This sounds so good! I listened to The Scillian Inheritance last summer with my toddler and it was such a great experience. I made it "our Italian summer" and played videos for him about learning Italian for babies, we made pasta together (from scratch!) and I bought him a baby wineglass (a plastic wineglass with a sippy cup top) to sip "wine" (grape juice) with me in the evenings. It was so fun and all inspired by Jo Piazza's book and fantastic companion podcast. She's got another mystery coming out this summer about tradwife influencers. While I definitely plan to read it, I'm not going to do a trad summer 😂 Maybe we'll go "back" to "Italy" again!
She really is! Have you heard about Yesteryear? It's forthcoming (1st quarter 2026) by Caro Claire Burke and has already been optioned by Anne Hathaway. It's supposed to be a more critical, dystopian take on tradwives.
My book club just selected this. Can't wait to dive into it now!
If you haven’t read Buxton’s first, Hollow Kingdom, you are MISSING OUT. Trust me!
Thanks, it is going on my TBR immediately!!
This totally inspired me to join NetGalley!
Adding to my Libby rn!
Oh I can’t WAIT to read this!!

Goodness, what a spectacular book review! I have no choice but to read it now :) <3
I hope you love it. It's a delight, cheesy in all the right ways, gave me chills.
This might be my introduction into a new genre...Italy+Slice of life.... here I come. THANKS
Haha I need many more of those books to add to my to-read stack!
ummmmm literally every book under "Tartufo might be for you if you enjoyed" is my fave. SOLD!
Right now I'm deep into the world of translated cozy reads from Japan and Korea but I'll be adding this to my summer TBR, thank you.
That sounds like a cozy genre to dive into! Can't wait to hear what you think.

Omg I love this lol. So sweet! I can't wait to read her new book too. She's so good at writing those page turners, right?

Sounds like a wonderful read.
Placed on hold on Libby! Excited to read!
Thank you for this thoughtful review! I’ve been spotting this book in bookstores and have been so curious about it.
I absolutely loved this! I can't wait to read it. And Still Life. That one has been on my TBR forever!
